KUALA LUMPUR (29th September 2011) – Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd  (ETCM) has introduced the new and improved Nissan Latio for both the 5-door Hatchback and 4-door Sedan models, offering new looks for a refined driving experience to all Nissan customers.



Powering the new Latio is Nissan’s proven all-aluminium four-cylinder petrol engine; namely the all-new MR18DE 1.8L (93kW/126ps at 5,200rpm; 174Nm at 4,800rpm) for the hatchback and HR16DE 1.6L (80kW/109ps at 6,000rpm; 153Nm at 4,400rpm) for the sedan which provides superb fuel efficiency of only 7.1L/100km (Sedan) and 7.8L/100km (Hatchback) without sacrificing performance.
Awarded 6-star rating for Safety by the Japanese New Car Assessment program, the Latio is expected to reassert its reputation with its class-leading spaciousness and superior comfort.
“This new Latio will deliver more value for our customers with the enhanced look and features,” said Dato’ Dr Ang Bon Beng, the Executive Director of ETCM.
Visually, the new Latio is distinguished by its newly designed front grille and bumper which imparts a feeling of a modern and luxury performance. The new Nissan Latio Hatchback also features a new rear bumper design which gives a presence of motion and energy. Its new head lamps with unique contemporary styling also goes well with the hatchback’s new tail lamps leaving a sleek and sporty impression.
For the interior, the new Latio Hatchback now comes with Steering Wheel Audio control, a new audio head-unit player with Auxiliary input for portable audio devices and a stylish white meter with instant and average fuel readings. The Latio Hatchback is also equipped with automatic air-conditioner system with digital display.




On-the-road prices (inclusive of insurance, road tax, registration fee and ownership claim fee) valid for Peninsular Malaysia will be as follows:
Nissan Latio (Sedan) : 1.6 AT – RM89,800 (Comfort)
Nissan Latio (Hatchback) : 1.8 AT – RM99,800 (Comfort)
     
The new Latio comes with a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty (whichever comes first). On top of that, Latio buyers will also receive free Solar Gard Armorcoat tinting package worth RM1,400.00.
